After generating nearly 100 sketches for my 2015 collection it was time to actually create pieces of art. So the experiment was on. Yes the experiment, each piece is created using a variety of techniques including turning the sketches into a dozens of prints for each color then melting the ink and transfer to different substrates. I then combine each layer, make a final print and embellish it with color pastels. The failure rate is very high and it’s a time consuming way of making a beautiful piece of fine art. But it’s my way, I love that it’s truly unique and when it works the result is beautiful, colorful and fun.

This series, “Dress Accordingly” started out as a test but I really liked the end result. The dynamics of the bold floating hat against the subtlety of the well dressed man and bright colors made for the interesting levels I am always trying to accomplish in my art. The series makes for a great wall art combination and I also dig the 1980’s graphic design feel, sort of retro.  Each piece in this series is 16×16 on Watercolor Paper.
